Is APEX only for the soft game?

No. APEX has the lowest swing weight of the three (113) and the most face flex (0.129 deflection) — so it swings fastest and returns the most energy. The serrated EVA energy ring stores and releases on hard shots, and the elongated head adds leverage on drives. The foam core gives you a soft game honeycomb can't match; it doesn't cost you the drive to get there.

What makes EPP foam different from honeycomb?

Honeycomb cores reflect energy — they're engineered to transfer it efficiently. Foam cores absorb and regulate it. EPP foam gives you a slower, more connected dwell time on the ball. If you've played honeycomb paddles and always wanted more feel, foam is what you've been looking for.

The elongated shape is narrower — does that affect the sweet spot?
